Construction Quality

General Specifications

  1. Closure strips will be installed under the ridge cap of the building.
  2. Base trim will be installed at the bottom edge of the sidewall sheets.
  3. There will be 1 - 2 x 8 treated kickboard installed around the perimeter of the building.
  4. The clearspan trusses will have a total load design of 25 # PSF (the bottom chord has 1 # PSF load). These trusses will rest in the side of each column, nailed in place, as well as bolted with two (2) 1/2" steel bolts. There will be (1) truss for each eight (8) foot or (10) foot of building. NOTE: 31# psf and 7# psf bottom chord design load are used when a ceiling will be installed.
  5. The sliding doors will be installed with steel girts 24" o.c. and with round track that is self-cleaning, self-oiling, self-aligning, and is guaranteed for the life of the building on which it is installed. There will also be a continuous door guide system installed on the bottom of the door.
  6. Gutters and downspouts will be installed on two (2) sides of the building.
  7. The roof and sidewall metal will be 29 GA. Wheeling Steel. This is a "Full-Hard" sheet with 100,000 PSI minimum tensile strength, manufactured in the U.S.A. The polyester paint coating is applied over galvanized steel in a four-step process. The paint coating carries a warranty against chipping and peeling for a period of 25 years.
  8. All flashing and trim items are color coated over galvanized steel.
  9. Your building will have factory made TRU LAM classic columns. They will consist of - three (3) 2 x 6, Southern Yellow Pine, treated to .40 CCA top to bottom; glued and nailed together. These columns will have a 25 year warranty.
  10. The columns are placed on eight (8) or (10) foot centers on the sidewalls.
  11. The columns rest on a pre-cast concrete pad that will not break.
  12. Wind braces and "X" bracing will be installed in the trusses as required.
  13. The roof purlins and sidewall girts will be Southern Yellow Pine, approximately 24" on center of both the roof and sidewalls.
  14. Tru-Bilt uses the East Coast screws to install your roof and sidewall metal. These screws are color coordinated to match your steel.
  15. The crew that builds your building will be full-time, fully insured, year round, well-experienced employees of Tru-Bilt.
  16. The entire building is guaranteed for a period of one (1) year against defects in workmanship and materials. Building carries a Five (5) Year Warranty on roof leaks. Tru-Bilt is a member, in good standing, of the National Frame Builders Association.
